A home on Sourceforge
Beyond is now on Sourceforge:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/beyondproject/
This means we get Subversion access. :) I’ll look through the other Sourceforge offerings and see what’s worth using. (In general, though, I shy away from it because their site is really cluttered and not very pretty and it’s hard to find what you need.)
Next I’ll need to install Trac for bug tracking…

I’ve been fairly disappointed with SourceForge, however there is not much else out there that I like much better except host it yourself. Though SVN on SF has been solid so far. CVS has been very flaky (supposedly they just upgraded it to work better). I really don’t like the Forums and Trackers. In general I find SF to be fairly functional, but ugly as sin and hard to work with and very slow. And the download system is frustrating to integrate with anything else and very confusing for basic users.
I’ve definitely been looking at Trac, but I don’t have a server stable enough to trust my SVN to yet, and Trac won’t work with my SF SVN yet without many hoops (svk, etc.)
I agree. The sole reason I signed up was the SVN support; if I could get SVN working on Bluehost, I’d ditch Sourceforge in a heartbeat. Trac looks a whole lot better as far as bug tracking goes (and if I recall correctly, that’s what 37signals is using). Ideally Bluehost would support both SVN and Trac. Then life would be bliss.
In the meantime, I’ll probably install Trac locally on my Mac and use it there until I find a better solution.
And yes, Sourceforge’s download system is a huge pain. Users don’t want to find a mirror and click ten times (okay, I exaggerate) to download the file: they want a one-click download, straight from the home page.
